AH & Veterinary Department, Champhai District – Farmers’ Training Conducted
Champhai : The AH & Veterinary Department of Champhai District conducted a farmers’ training session on the Upgradation of Indigenous Cattle, as part of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, for local farmers from Hnahlan and Khuangphah.
The training was led by Dr. Lalbiakzuala Sailo, DAH & VO, along with Dr. B. Lallawmsanga, Deputy Director (Cattle and Mithun Development) from the Directorate of AH & Veterinary, Aizawl.
The primary focus of the training was to enhance the local cattle breeds by promoting practices like Artificial Insemination. Participants were encouraged to register their livestock on the Bharat Pashupalan portal, which facilitates effective herd management. The training also emphasized the importance of vaccinations for maintaining livestock health and the need for proper care of cattle.
Additionally, today at the District Veterinary Hospital in Tualcheng and Lungphulian, Veterinary Officer Dr. P.L. Lalruatfela and his staff administered FMD vaccines to the cattle.
