Citizens Should Not Believe in Rumors – Election Returning Officer Rohan Kuwar Clarification on Voting in Avadhan Village, Dhule Rural Assembly Constituency

Dhule : The 2024 elections in Dhule Rural Assembly Constituency (06) were conducted peacefully. Following the Indian Election Commission’s guidelines, voting took place on November 20, 2024, and the counting process concluded on November 23, 2024. However, it has come to light that misleading information and rumors regarding the voting figures at Avadhan polling booth are being circulated on social media. Upon investigation, these reports were found to be false, and the spread of fake news was confirmed. This clarification was issued by the Returning Officer and Sub-Divisional Revenue Officer for Dhule Rural Assembly Constituency, Rohan Kuwar. He urged citizens not to trust or propagate rumors, fake news, or misleading information.

Since the morning of Monday, November 25, 2024, social media posts have claimed that Congress candidate Kunal Patil received zero votes at the Avadhan polling booth. Additionally, a fake video clip is being circulated to suggest that protests have erupted due to the alleged zero votes. Upon receipt of this matter, the administration began an in-depth verification.

In Avadhan, there were four polling stations: 247, 248, 249, and 250. The verified data shows that Congress candidate Kunal Patil received 227 votes at booth 247, 234 votes at booth 248, 252 votes at booth 249, and 344 votes at booth 250. A total of 2,881 votes were cast across these four booths, including three NOTA votes. Of these, the Congress candidate secured 1,057 votes, while BJP candidate Raghavendra alias Ramdada Patil received 1,741 votes.

Based on these facts, the claim that the Congress candidate received zero votes at Avadhan polling booths is false and misleading. Citizens are advised not to engage with or spread such fake news or videos. They are also urged not to respond to or propagate bogus messages or fall prey to such rumors. This appeal was reiterated by Rohan Kuwar, Returning Officer and Sub-Divisional Revenue Officer for Dhule Rural Assembly Constituency.
