Fostering Prosperity in Madhya Pradesh through Development while Preserving Heritage : CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Ken-Betwa Link and Parvati-Kali Sindh-Chambal projects will serve as significant milestones in advancing Madhya Pradesh’s prosperity. Emphasizing the state government’s commitment to the principle of development and preserving our heritage, he highlighted efforts to enrich the lives of its citizens.

Dr. Yadav made these remarks while addressing the “Celebration of Diversity of Arts: Virasat” programme at the Ravindra Bhawan auditorium on Friday. The Chief Minister inaugurated the programme by lighting the ceremonial lamp. On this occasion, he honored the artists participating in the Virasat program and unveiled several books published by the Culture Department, showcasing the state’s dedication to preserving and promoting its rich cultural heritage.

Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) Smt. Krishna Gaur, Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, Chairman Bhopal Municipal Corporation Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Shri Sumit Pachauri and other public representatives and a large number of citizens were present in the programme.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that two significant river-linking projects have been approved by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to bring prosperity to the Bundelkhand, Chambal, and Malwa regions of Madhya Pradesh. The foundation stone for the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Project will be laid on December 17 in Jaipur, while the Ken-Betwa Project’s foundation stone will be laid on December 25 in Khajuraho (Chhatarpur). Prime Minister Shri Modi has confirmed his participation in these landmark events. Dr. Yadav highlighted that the late Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee envisioned the river-linking project, and it is now being realized under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi with the collaboration of the Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh governments. The foundation stone ceremonies, coinciding with the 100th birth anniversary of Vajpayee, are a fitting tribute to his legacy.These projects will significantly enhance irrigation and drinking water facilities across large areas of Madhya Pradesh, reducing migration by ensuring adequate water availability. Dr. Yadav emphasized the state government’s commitment to the welfare of the poor, farmers, women, and youth, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s priorities. He reiterated Madhya Pradesh’s dedication to empowering youth, equipping them with skills, and ensuring their active role in the nation’s progress.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Shri Modi is a politician who did not contest any election till the age of 50. After this age, he has created new dimensions of development as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister of the country thrice. He has achieved success in forming the government at the Center on the basis of one party. Prime Minister Shri Modi has worried about the welfare of every section. Madhya Pradesh, which has progressed in the last decade in terms of agricultural development and infrastructure development, will now establish new dimensions of prosperity through important projects.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav mentioned special guest actor Shri Randeep Hooda present in the programme and appreciated his acting talent. He said that Shri Hooda chose the path of acting and played the character of Veer Savarkar effectively on screen. Bringing the contribution of Veer Savarkar before the nation through cinema is praiseworthy.

In the programme, Shri Randeep Hooda said that he is happy to see the wonderful coordination of nature, culture, and development in Madhya Pradesh. He said that his Janmbhoomi is Haryana and his Karmabhoomi is Mumbai, but he considers it a Sukoon-bhoomi because of the historical fact that Lord Krishna pursued education in Madhya Pradesh and due to the present progress of the state in tourism and wildlife conservation. He urged that the possibilities of the development of a Film Institute and a Film City in Madhya Pradesh should be realized. Shri Hooda congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for his important role in bringing about a wonderful synergy of nature, culture, and development in Madhya Pradesh.

In the Virasat programme, Sushri Swasti Mehul, Mumbai along with her group presented the popular bhajan Meri Jhopdi Ke Bhagya Aaj Khul Jayenge Ram Aayenge…. Sushri Swasti Mehul also presented melodious bhajans in praise of Lord Shri Krishna. She gave a soulful presentation of bhajans based on the theme of Krishna-Sudama friendship. A captivating dance drama presentation of ‘Madhya Pradesh: Swar Ki Samta’ was given by the group under the direction of Sushri Jayalakshmi Ishwar, New Delhi. The group also presented a special Nritya-geet programme focusing on major tourist and religious places in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the presentation of all the artists. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav saw the picture exhibition based on Gau and Gopal and Shrimad Bhagwat Purana.

Principal Secretary of Culture Department, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla welcomed the guests and gave details of the activities of the Culture and Tourism Department. Madhya Pradesh anthem was also presented in the programme.
