Submission Period for First Book Publications by New Writers Through Maharashtra State Literature and Culture Board Extended Until January 31, 2025

Mumbai : The Maharashtra State Literature and Culture Board has invited applications from new writers whose first books have not yet been published as of 2025. Grants will be provided for the publication of these debut books. New writers are requested to submit their manuscripts to the Maharashtra State Literature and Culture Board, Ravindra Natya Mandir Building, Mumbai, between January 1 and January 31, 2025, as per the announcement made by the Secretary of the Board through a press release.

Grants Available for Six Literary Genres:

  1. Poetry (64 to 96 printed pages; 80 poems)
  2. Short Stories (128 to 144 printed pages; maximum 45,000 words)
  3. Drama/One-Act Plays (64 to 96 printed pages; maximum 28,000 words)
  4. Novels (128 to 144 printed pages; maximum 45,000 words)
  5. Children’s Literature (64 to 96 printed pages; maximum 28,000 words)
  6. Essays, Personal Narratives, Biographies, Autobiographies, and Travelogues (128 to 144 printed pages; maximum 45,000 words)

Grants will be provided for manuscripts within the specified page limits for these six literary genres. Manuscripts falling below the minimum page limit or exceeding the maximum page limit will not be considered under this scheme.
