Minister Pi Lalrinpuii Attends Women & Child Development Brainstorming Session
On 11th January 2025, Mizoram Women & Child Development Minister, Pi Lalrinpuii, participated in a two-day brainstorming session, ‘Chintan Shivir’, organized by the Ministry of Women & Child Development at Udaipur, Rajasthan. During her address, Minister Pi Lalrinpuii highlighted various initiatives undertaken by Mizoram’s Women & Child Development Department, including the Project Thisen initiative, the establishment of nutri-gardens, and the recent launch of a Widow Cell by the Mizoram Government.
The brainstorming session, presided over by Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Pi Annapurna Devi, was attended by the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and Women & Child Development Ministers and officials from various states. The event focused on sharing insights, strategies, and innovative approaches to enhance the implementation of schemes under the Women & Child Development Department.
Among the best practices presented, Mizoram’s implementation of Anganwadi cum Creche centers received particular recognition. The contribution of Mizo communities in building Anganwadi centers voluntarily, along with their collaborative efforts in addressing challenges related to the care and welfare of children, was widely appreciated.
The department’s work under the PALNA scheme also earned commendation from central authorities. Additionally, the empowerment of women through initiatives like two-wheeler taxi services was acknowledged as a significant step forward. Mizoram’s state-specific efforts and innovations in Women & Child Development were lauded as exemplary and inspiring for other states.
This session served as a platform for Mizoram to showcase its achievements and share insights into its impactful initiatives, reflecting its commitment to advancing women and child welfare.
