AgriStack Scheme Review Meeting: Pioneering Digital Revolution in Agriculture
Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that the AgriStack initiative is a groundbreaking step toward farmer-centric solutions, marking the beginning of a digital revolution in the agriculture sector. Under this ambitious project, a comprehensive database of farmers will be developed, and each farmer will be assigned a unique Farmer ID. This initiative aims to simplify and ensure transparency in delivering welfare schemes by the central and state governments to farmers.
During a review meeting on the AgriStack scheme and Farmer Registry rollout held at the Chief Minister’s office on Thursday, Shri Sharma directed officials to work on this project in mission mode and encourage farmers to actively participate.
Camps for Farmer Registry to Begin in February
The Chief Minister announced that the pilot project for the Farmer Registry was successfully launched in December in Sikar district as part of the state government’s first-anniversary celebrations. Starting February, the initiative will be expanded statewide with camps organized at the Gram Panchayat level in a phased manner. Shri Sharma instructed the authorities to complete preparations for these camps, ensure effective supervision at the subdivision level, and establish a monitoring system at the district level. He stressed that public convenience must be prioritized, and other related services from different departments should also be included in the camps.
Raising Farmer Awareness
Shri Sharma highlighted that farmers are the cornerstone of this mission. Therefore, extensive awareness campaigns should be conducted to ensure no farmer misses out on the benefits of the government’s welfare schemes. He called for widespread promotion of this significant initiative through social media and other platforms to engage more farmers.
AgriStack: A Golden Record for Farmers
AgriStack is a digital public infrastructure project led by the central government, aiming to create a database for crop surveys, farmer registries, and georeferenced maps, ultimately providing each farmer with a unique ID. This initiative will streamline data at the national level, automate schemes like the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, and enhance access to services such as the Kisan Credit Card scheme and other welfare programs.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Akhil Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (CMO) Shri Shikhar Agarwal, Principal Secretary (CMO) Shri Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary Revenue Shri Dinesh Kumar, Principal Secretary Cooperatives Smt. Manju Rajpal, and other senior officials.
