Over 200 ATMs supplying 12,000-15,000 liters of RO water daily at the press of a button

Mahakumbh Nagar : As the grand Mahakumbh in Prayagraj progresses, drawing crores of devotees for a holy dip at the Sangam, authorities are making every possible effort under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure smooth arrangements.

As part of this, the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban) has installed 200 free RO water ATMs across the Mela area, earning devotees’ appreciation. The pilgrims are expressing gratitude to the government and the administration for the thoughtful arrangement.

Lakhs of devotees visiting Mahakumbh daily are being provided with pure RO drinking water through over 200 Water ATMs installed across the fair area. These ATMs, strategically placed near different sectors and temples, ensure easy access to clean water.

Executive Engineer of Jal Nigam Urban, Satish Kumar, confirmed that initial technical issues have been resolved, allowing devotees to conveniently fill their bottles or utensils with free RO water at the press of a button.

This initiative has been implemented to enhance the overall experience of pilgrims while promoting sustainability and hygiene at the Mahakumbh.

The Water ATMs at Mahakumbh are supplying 12,000 to 15,000 liters of pure RO water every day, ensuring uninterrupted access to clean drinking water for devotees. Initially, a nominal fee of Re 1 was set, but now the service is completely free of cost.

Each Water ATM is manned by an operator. To ensure seamless operation, sensor-based monitoring is in place, and any technical issues are swiftly resolved by Jal Nigam technicians. Millions of devotees have already benefited from this facility, reinforcing the commitment to hygiene, convenience, and sustainability at Mahakumbh 2025.

On Makar Sankranti (January 14), Water ATMs dispensed approximately 46,000 liters of pure RO water to devotees. Similarly, an adequate water supply was ensured on Mauni Amavasya, and now preparations have been finalized for Basant Panchami to maintain uninterrupted access to clean drinking water.

The administration is committed to ensuring no devotee faces a shortage of water during the sacred bathing rituals. Devotees have expressed their gratitude to the government and authorities for this free drinking water facility, as it eliminates the need to purchase bottled water, making their pilgrimage more convenient and hassle-free.
