Lok Sabha Speaker Visits J.K. Lone Hospital in Kota, Inquires About Gas Leak-Affected Children
Jaipur : Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla and Energy Minister Shri Heeralal Nagar visited J.K. Lone Hospital in Kota on Monday to check on the health of children affected by a gas leak. They met the medical team, inquired about the children’s condition, and instructed them to ensure proper treatment.
Shri Om Birla personally interacted with the children and directed doctors to closely monitor their health. He also issued instructions to the medical board overseeing their treatment. Additionally, he ordered a thorough investigation into the incident, emphasizing the need for a detailed report covering all aspects. He assured that affected families would receive all necessary support and assistance. To prevent such incidents in the future, he instructed factory owners to adhere to safety guidelines. He further clarified that appropriate action would be taken based on investigation reports from all relevant departments.
Energy Minister Shri Heeralal Nagar stated that a medical board is actively monitoring the health of the children, who are currently stable. He assured that children will only be discharged when their families are completely satisfied with their recovery. He also mentioned that symptoms observed in the children due to gas exposure included eye irritation, excessive tearing, breathing difficulties, throat irritation, and an unusual odor. The exact cause of the gas leak and any possible negligence will be determined only after a detailed investigation.
The visit was also attended by Dr. Sangeeta Saxena, Principal of Medical College, Dr. Nirmala Sharma, Superintendent of J.K. Lone Hospital, and several other medical professionals from various departments.
