Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin Issues Appointment Orders to 2,642 Medical Officers

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin, issued appointment orders to 2,642 selected medical officers through the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Recruitment Board.

At an event organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare in Tiruverumbur, Chennai, on February 26, 2025, the Hon’ble Chief Minister officially handed over appointment orders to 25 selected medical officers, symbolizing the recruitment of 2,642 candidates.

To enhance healthcare accessibility, the Tamil Nadu government has been implementing various initiatives, including the establishment of new government medical colleges, strengthening primary health centers, upgrading medical infrastructure, procuring advanced medical equipment, and filling vacant positions. Notably, the government has also launched schemes like “People’s First Medicine” to ensure quality healthcare and “Innuir Kaappom – Nammakkaga Kakkum 48” to reduce fatalities from accidents.

Since assuming office in 2021, the Tamil Nadu government has recruited 4,264 healthcare personnel across various categories, including doctors, assistant surgeons, lab technicians, and other specialists. The latest recruitment process, conducted on January 5, 2025, finalized the selection of 2,642 medical officers through interviews held on February 22, 23, and 24. These newly appointed medical officers will be deployed across ESI hospitals, government-upgraded primary health centers, additional government PHCs, and urban health centers across Tamil Nadu.

The event was attended by Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Thiru Ma. Subramanian, along with Members of Parliament, MLAs, senior government officials, and health department representatives.
