All Departments Should Work in Coordination for the Grand Organization of ‘Dongri Mahotsav’ – Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai

Satara : A grand agricultural and livestock exhibition is set to be organized as part of the Dongri Mahotsav. Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai has instructed all relevant departments to work in coordination to ensure the event’s success.

A review meeting on the Dongri Mahotsav preparations was held at the Government Rest House in Daulatnagar. The meeting was attended by District Collector Santosh Patil, Superintendent of Police Sameer Sheikh, Additional Chief Executive Officer Vishwas Sid, Irrigation Department’s Superintendent Engineer Arun Naik, District Planning Officer Shishikant Mali, District Superintendent Agricultural Officer Bhagyashree Farande, and Executive Engineer Rahul Ahire, among others.

Minister Desai emphasized the need to organize various cultural programs as part of the festival. He directed officials to ensure active participation from local artists in events such as Gajani dance, bhajans, kirtans, and religious recitations. Additionally, agricultural and livestock exhibitions should be held at separate venues.

He further suggested inviting women’s self-help groups (SHGs) from hilly regions of other districts to participate in the Dongri Mahotsav, allowing them to sell their products and local food items through dedicated stalls.

To equip farmers with modern agricultural techniques, training sessions and technology-based stalls should be set up. Minister Desai urged the agriculture department to make efforts to attract as many farmers as possible to the festival, ensuring they benefit from the latest advancements in agriculture.
