Raipur/Bagia: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today began sowing paddy in the fields after worshiping the village deity and his Ishta deity in his home village of Bagia. On his social media handle X, he wrote in Chhattisgarhi: Dhan ke katora hamar Chhattisgarh, Jihan Annadata Upjathe Kisam-Kisam ke Dhan, Bera aa gaye he bowara ke, Kisan ke mukhata le Chhattisgarh Banhi Dhanwan.
Translation: Today in your village Bagiya, start sowing paddy by offering prayers to the village deity or Ishtadevata. Praying for a good harvest from the Jammu food provider of Maa Annapurna region. Jai Kisan, Jai Chhattisgarh.
After sowing, CM Sai said during a discussion with the media: “The Kharif season has arrived, and so the work of farming has also begun. Like every year, this year I worshiped God and Mother Earth and sowed paddy properly. I wish for a good harvest for all the farmers of the region. Chhattisgarh is a paddy bowl, and its hardworking farmers produce excellent paddy. Our government is fully dedicated to the development of these farmers. We bought 21 quintals of paddy per acre as promised from the farmers and paid Rs 3100 per quintal. An amount of Rs 13,320 crore was given in lump sum to 24 lakh 72 thousand farmers. The farmers of the region are now financially prosperous. Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has supported food donors across the country with the Kisan Samman Nidhi. Today, the 17th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi is being released. For this, I congratulate and wish all the farmers of the region.”
