Notice to Hold State Kabaddi Association Executive Election as per National Sports Code.
Mumbai: The State Kabaddi Association Executive must strictly follow the National Sports Code for the upcoming state-level elections. Deputy Chief Minister and President of the State Kabaddi Association, Ajit Pawar, emphasized that no injustice should be done to any player and efforts should be made to promote Kabaddi in Maharashtra. He also assured that funds will be allocated to support the sport.
Today, the Maharashtra State Kabaddi Association Advisory Committee and Executive Meeting was held at Dadar Shivaji Park, Kabaddi Maharishi Shankarao Salvi Hall, under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Pawar. Association Vice President MLA Bhai Jagtap, Former MLA Amarsinh Pandit, Dinkar Patil, Vice President Shakuntala Khatavkar, Associate Baburao Chandere, Treasurer Mangal Pandey, Associate Ravindra Desai, Life Member of the Association Avinash Solwat, along with executive members and association members, were present.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawar stated that the prize money has been increased to encourage the sport of Kabaddi. He stressed that the lack of funds should not hinder the growth of sports culture in the state. As Kabaddi is more prevalent in rural areas, funds will be made available from MLA funds and the District Planning Committee. Efforts should be made through the association to revive the golden days of Kabaddi. The executive election should be conducted as per the national code, and the sports code must be followed. The election for the new executive committee will be held on June 21, with June 19 being the last date for accepting the names of district-wise voters.
