Overwhelming Response to ‘Seva Sankalp Shibir’ in Selu, Three-Day Camp Inaugurated with Grandeur
Public Welfare Schemes Promoted through Various Stalls, Women Self-Help Group Stalls a Major Attraction, Mega Health Camp Scheduled on April 10

Parbhani : Special attention will be given to women’s health, empowering them economically, and creating employment and opportunities for youth as part of the all-round development of Parbhani district through various welfare schemes of the government, said Meghana Sakore-Bordikar, Minister of State for Public Health and Family Welfare, Water Supply and Sanitation, Energy, Women and Child Development, Public Works (Public Enterprises), and Guardian Minister of Parbhani district. She emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring these initiatives reach the grassroots. Minister of State for Rural Home, Housing, School Education, Cooperation, and Mining Pankaj Bhoyar urged citizens to take full advantage of Central and State Government schemes for their progress.

The ‘Seva Sankalp Shibir’ was grandly inaugurated today on the grounds of Nutan College in Selu. The event was attended by District Collector Raghunath Gawade, CEO of Zilla Parishad Natisha Mathur, Dean of the Government Medical College Dr. Sadanand Bhise, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Mr. Beniwal, District Surgeon Dr. Nagesh Lakhmawar, District Health Officer Rahul Gite, Credit Society Mentor Sangeeta Chavan, and Selu SDM Sangeeta Sanap.

The three-day camp from April 8 to 10 has been organized to spread awareness about government schemes to the most marginalized and make government departments more citizen-centric. The event saw a large turnout from women self-help groups, youth, and citizens from urban and rural areas. Various government departments set up information stalls, which received enthusiastic public engagement.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bordikar said that the camp has been organized to ensure the benefits of government schemes reach the public. Citizens of Parbhani should avail the services until the camp concludes on April 10. She also announced a Mega Health Camp on April 10 and encouraged all citizens to get their health checkups done.

Highlighting development initiatives, Minister Bordikar stated her strong commitment to Parbhani’s progress. A dialysis center was inaugurated today in Selu, and another will soon open in Purna. A Government Medical College has been started in Parbhani, and the Chief Minister will soon lay the foundation stone for its new building, which will be completed in 18 months. Chemotherapy for breast cancer has also begun at the government hospital in Parbhani. Efforts are underway to ensure every citizen has access to quality healthcare within a 5 km radius. Through the Guardian Minister Task Force, department heads have adopted one village each to bring schemes directly to rural populations.

She added that initiatives like the Lakhpati Didi scheme and women’s credit societies are being actively promoted to empower women economically. Over 4 lakh women in the district are benefiting from the Ladki Bahin scheme. Investment will also be a focus for the district’s development. She urged women, youth, and all citizens to make the most of the Seva Sankalp Shibir.

In his speech, Minister Bhoyar praised the camp and said it will help spread awareness of various Central and State schemes. He urged all to benefit, especially women, by becoming financially self-reliant through these initiatives. Women should start enterprises via credit societies, which have become a boon for rural areas. Farmers should use cooperative services to strengthen the rural economy, he added.

Sangeeta Chavan highlighted the importance of women’s credit societies, sharing that after starting self-help groups in Nagpur, she and others launched the Nagpur Women’s Samman Credit Cooperative Society, which has empowered women financially. She encouraged women to confidently form their own credit societies and even establish women-led banks. She urged them to utilize the Central Government’s Lakhpati Didi scheme to become financially independent.

District Collector Raghunath Gawade delivered the welcome address and detailed the objectives of the Seva Sankalp Shibir. Sub-Divisional Officer Sangeeta Sanap delivered the vote of thanks. After the ceremony, dignitaries visited various departmental and self-help group stalls.
