Maharashtra’s Visionary Budget: Relief for Farmers, Empowerment for All!

Mumbai : Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the state budget in the legislature today. State Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde stated that this budget will provide relief to all social groups, from Pandhari’s ward to farmers’ quarters, and carries a vision of development.

With a focus on women’s economic policy, women’s development, and reducing family stress on housewives, this budget emphasizes the financial empowerment of the middle class, common people, youth, and most importantly, farmers.

In response to the soybean and cotton farmers not receiving the expected prices during the kharif season of 2023-24, the government has announced financial assistance of five thousand rupees per hectare for these farmers.

Additionally, the Chief Minister will advocate for solar pumps under the agricultural electricity bill concession scheme, free electricity for agricultural pumps up to seven and a half horsepower, a special subsidy for daytime electricity supply to farmers, a 650 crore fund for Jalyukta Shiwar Phase 2, and a 100 crore fund for research in artificial intelligence in agriculture. The second phase of the Nanaji Deshmukh Agricultural Sanjeevani Project will be implemented in 21 districts with a budget of 341 crores for the Village Tith godown scheme for agricultural goods, and an e-panchnama system will be introduced in the one-rupee crop insurance scheme. These measures will provide significant relief to the state’s farmers.

All 82 hostels under the Sant Bhagwan Baba Government Hostel Yojana, initiated by Dhananjay Munde under the Gopinathrao Munde Oostod Kamgar Kalyan Mahamandal, have also been approved. Munde has expressed gratitude to the government.

For the visionary budget provisions aimed at sustainable agriculture, farmers’ relief, and economic empowerment, Minister Munde has thanked Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
