Khaki Uniform Approved for Registered Security Guards; Implementation Begins May 1 – Labour Minister
Mumbai : The Maharashtra government has approved a khaki uniform for registered security personnel across the state. The uniform will include a blue cap featuring the logo and name of the Security Guard Board. Marking the occasion of Labour Day, the implementation of this new uniform will begin across Maharashtra from May 1, 2025, Labour Minister Adv. Aakash Fundkar announced.
The newly designated khaki uniform for security guards registered under the Maharashtra Security Guard Board was officially unveiled by Minister Fundkar at Nariman Bhavan in Mumbai.
Security guards and various organizations had long demanded that khaki be adopted as the official uniform color. Responding to this request, the Labour Minister approved the proposal. There are currently 16 district-wise Security Guard Boards operational across the state, and with this initiative, uniformity in attire will be maintained among all registered security personnel from May 1 onwards.
Minister Fundkar stated that this initiative will not only ensure a unified identity for security guards but also enhance their sense of discipline. Furthermore, the adoption of this professional uniform is expected to strengthen the overall security system in the state, making it more cohesive and efficient.
