Candidates allowed entry into examination centres only after biometric verification
Lucknow : The Yogi Adityanath-led government executed a comprehensive and foolproof plan to conduct the largest police constable recruitment examination in the history of Uttar Pradesh. Ensuring utmost transparency and fairness, every exam centre was placed under strict security protocols.
Static magistrates were deployed at each centre, and police officers ranging from Deputy Superintendents to Sub-Inspectors were appointed as centre supervisors depending on the number of candidates. CCTV surveillance was in place, and candidates were allowed entry only after biometric verification.
Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna stated that, in accordance with the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, extensive administrative and police arrangements were made to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the board examinations.
At the district level, the District Magistrate was designated as the District Supervisor (Magistrate), overseeing all key administrative tasks including examination center management, deployment of Sector Magistrates, Static Magistrates, and examination center staff. Assistant centre supervisors were also posted along with static magistrates. Additional District Magistrates were appointed as assistant nodal officers (administration), and one sector magistrate was deployed for every three exam centres. Special flying squads were activated to curb cheating, and depending on the number of candidates, centre supervisors ranged from DySPs to SIs. Centres with over 1,000 candidates were overseen by DySPs, those with up to 1,000 by Inspectors, and centres with up to 500 candidates by Sub-Inspectors.
To uphold the integrity of the examination process, 50% of the personnel posted at each center were appointed by the District Magistrate and the remaining 50% by the Centre Administrator (Principal). Examination Assistants (First and Second) were jointly appointed by both authorities. Additionally, one invigilator was assigned for every 12 candidates, with assistant invigilators also deployed to support the process.
Technology was widely used to ensure only genuine candidates gained entry. Measures included physical frisking, handheld metal detector (HHMD) checks, biometric fingerprint scans, and facial recognition. In case facial recognition failed, FRIS (Facial Recognition and Identification System) capture was used, and Aadhaar authentication was mandated for any discrepancies.
Additionally, electronic jammers were installed at all centres to block devices like mobile phones and Bluetooth gadgets. CCTV surveillance at exam rooms and centres provided live feed to control rooms at the centre, district level, and recruitment board headquarters.
With these rigorous measures, the Yogi government upheld the sanctity of the examination process, making the UP Police recruitment drive a national model of secure and transparent testing.
