Mass Yoga Session Held on International Day of Yoga in Janjgir-Champa
MP Kamlesh Jangde Emphasizes Yoga as the Foundation of a Healthy Body and Joyful Mind
Raipur : A mass yoga session was organized at Bhima Talab near the Jajwalyadev Gate in Janjgir-Champa district headquarters to mark the International Day of Yoga. The district-level event took place in the presence of Member of Parliament Kamlesh Jangde, who served as the chief guest.
Extending greetings on the occasion, MP Kamlesh Jangde highlighted that due to the persistent efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, International Yoga Day is now celebrated across the world. She noted, “Yoga is the foundation of a healthy body and a joyful mind. It encourages self-discipline, balance, and inner peace.”
She urged citizens to adopt the spirit of “Do Yoga, Stay Healthy” by incorporating regular yoga practice into their daily lives. “Yoga is an integral part of India’s ancient lifestyle that harmonizes the body, mind, and soul. Let us all make yoga a part of our lives and raise awareness among others, contributing to a healthier society and stronger nation,” she said.
Tree Plantation Drive under “One Tree in Mother’s Name” Campaign
To commemorate the day, a tree plantation drive under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (One Tree in Mother’s Name) was held at the Collectorate premises. Officials planted fruit-bearing, shade-providing, and medicinal trees such as jackfruit, mango, sandalwood, and sheesham. MP Kamlesh Jangde also participated and addressed the gathering.
During the event, yoga instructors led various yoga asanas, with enthusiastic participation from public representatives, government officials, schoolchildren, and local residents. MP Jangde administered a pledge encouraging everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine. Saplings were also distributed to attendees as part of the campaign.
