State Committed to Economic Strength and Financial Discipline: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

CM chairs high-level review meeting of Finance Department; calls for transparency and efficiency in financial management

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today chaired a high-level review meeting of the Finance Department at Mahanadi Bhawan, Mantralaya, Nawa Raipur, to assess the state’s economic condition and financial management. Present at the meeting were Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary and senior officials of the department. The review covered key areas such as budget management, revenue collection, expenditure control, financial discipline, and e-governance.

During the meeting, CM Sai reviewed detailed reports on the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), capital expenditure, and the financial progress of key schemes. Emphasizing the government’s priorities, he stated that judicious and transparent utilization of financial resources is critical to ensure the uninterrupted implementation of welfare programs. “The state’s progress is intrinsically linked to its financial stability,” he said. “A stronger financial structure will enable faster development.”

He further noted that economic activities have been actively promoted by the government, resulting in a significant rise in the state’s GSDP.

Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary presented an overview of the department’s current financial position, including revenue generation, expenditure management, and upcoming strategies. He informed that financial resources are being provided timely as per the government’s priorities and that the department continues to work towards greater financial transparency and good governance.

CM Sai appreciated the working of the Finance Department and commended the innovative steps taken over the past 18 months, which he said have further strengthened the state’s economic foundation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that the benefits of every welfare scheme reach the last citizen and that Chhattisgarh continues to scale new heights with sound financial governance.

Also present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretaries Mukesh Kumar Bansal and Rahul Bhagat, along with other senior officials.
