Housing Commissioner Reviews Monsoon Preparedness: Mandal Committed to Ensuring a Safe and Accessible Environment

Jaipur : On Tuesday, Housing Commissioner Dr. Rashmi Sharma held a review meeting via video conferencing with departmental officials at the Mandal Auditorium to assess the preparedness for the monsoon season. During the meeting, she conducted a detailed discussion and issued necessary directives.
In light of the potential severity of heavy rainfall, Dr. Sharma instructed officials to prioritize safety and smooth operations across all Housing Board projects. She specifically directed prompt repairs of damaged roads, open manholes, dangling electrical boxes, and exposed cables to ensure the safety of residents and property. She also emphasized the need for strict adherence to safety standards at construction sites, with special attention to the protection of workers and pedestrians.
Dr. Sharma highlighted that electrical management is a highly sensitive matter during the monsoon. She instructed that uninterrupted power supply must be ensured in all residential housing schemes. For this purpose, helpline numbers should be issued, control rooms should remain active, and the entire system must be closely monitored.
She clearly stated that no negligence would be tolerated. All engineers were instructed to remain present on-site for real-time supervision and to ensure immediate action wherever necessary. She urged all officers of the Housing Board to work with alertness and promptness, reaffirming the department’s commitment to providing a safe and accessible living environment for its residents.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer (Headquarters) Mr. T.S. Meena, Chief Engineer Zone-I Mr. Amit Agarwal, Chief Engineer Mr. Prateek Srivastava, Financial Advisor Mr. Rohtash Yadav, and other senior headquarters officials. Engineers from various districts also joined via video conference.
