Another Child Dies After Falling into Drain, BJP’s Calamity Government Sleeping – Saurabh Bharadwaj
- “Small children are dying after falling into drains and sewers, yet no one is held accountable.” – Saurabh Bharadwaj
- “It seems there is no government in Delhi; no action is taken against any responsible official.” – Saurabh Bharadwaj
- “In the last three months, more than 30 people have lost their lives, and the government is only covering up.” – Saurabh Bharadwaj
New Delhi, Aug 2025 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed deep concern over the tragic deaths of innocent children falling into open drains and sewers, while sharply attacking the BJP government. AAP’s Delhi State Convenor, Saurabh Bharadwaj, said that open drains and sewers in the capital are claiming the lives of innocent children, while the so-called “four-engine BJP government” has gone to sleep, becoming a disaster for the people of Delhi. In the latest case, a child lost his life after falling into a drain in the Welcome area of Delhi. He said it feels as if there is no government in Delhi at all—children are dying after falling into drains and sewers, no one is taking responsibility, and no action is being taken. The Delhi government only does a cover-up after each tragedy.
Bharadwaj added that in the national capital, children are dying after falling into open drains, and nothing could be a bigger proof of the BJP government’s failure. Because of this government’s negligence, yet another innocent life has been lost in the Welcome locality. Over the past three months alone, more than 30 people have died in Delhi due to the carelessness of the BJP government. Many lives have already been lost after drowning in these drains, yet instead of taking any concrete action, Rekha Gupta’s government is busy whitewashing the situation.
He further pointed out that on Friday, in the Nizamuddin area, six people died when the roof of the Dargah Sharif Patte Shah complex collapsed due to rainwater accumulation. On Thursday, in the Kalkaji area, a motorcyclist tragically lost his life when a tree fell on him, while two children were killed when a DDA wall collapsed. Earlier too, several incidents linked to waterlogging had claimed lives. Despite tall claims of desilting, Delhi was completely submerged in rainwater. Bharadwaj said the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government must actually work; without real action, just making big promises will not help the people of Delhi.
