Minister Aditi Tatkare Reviews Women and Child Development Department Schemes

Mumbai, Aug 2025 : Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare conducted an extensive review of the implementation of various schemes aimed at empowering women in the state, including the Adishakti campaign, Child Care, Mission Vatsalya, and the Matru Vandana Yojana.

During the meeting held at the Secretariat, Secretary Dr. Anupkumar Yadav, Commissioner Kailas Pagare, Deputy Secretary V. R. Thakur, and other officials were present.

The Adishakti campaign aims to address women’s health issues, reduce malnutrition, child mortality, and maternal mortality rates, prevent sexual and physical violence, and create violence-free families and societies. To achieve this, committees have been established across 36 districts and 150 talukas in the state. The work to form committees at the village level is ongoing, and Minister Tatkare directed that committees should be urgently established in the remaining talukas.

Minister Tatkare instructed that the scope of the scheme for single women, which started during the COVID-19 period, should be expanded to include widows, divorcees, and single women. She assured that funds for the Child Care scheme would be made available promptly. She also reviewed Mission Vatsalya and the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.

Commissioner Kailas Pagare stated that 100% mapping of the districts under the Matru Vandana Yojana has been completed, and beneficiaries will directly benefit from the scheme.
