India Creates History by Winning 3 Consecutive Matches in Asia Cup 2025

Raipur, Sept 2025 : India has created history in the Asia Cup 2025 by winning three consecutive matches and securing a place in the semifinals.

The Under-16 Women’s Asia Cup 2025 is being held in Malaysia from September 13 to 19, 2025. From Chhattisgarh, Divya Rangari, daughter of Vinod Rangari from Mahasamund district, has been selected for the Indian Under-16 women’s basketball team. Apart from her, players from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Telangana are also part of the squad.

The Indian team displayed remarkable performance in the tournament. In their opening match, India defeated Iran 70–67. In the second match, they overcame Uzbekistan 81–69. In the third match, India registered a convincing victory over Samoa with a score of 71–54, thereby sealing their place in the semifinals. By winning three back-to-back matches, the Indian team has scripted history in the Asia Cup and will now play the semifinal on September 18.

The news of India’s historic wins has brought immense joy across the state and district. On this achievement, several dignitaries and organizations extended their best wishes to the team and Divya Rangari, including Shri Rajiv Jain, President of Chhattisgarh Basketball Association, Chairman Shri Vijay Agrawal, Shri Naresh Dakaliya, Shri Rajiv Chaubey, Shri Rajesh Gaur, India’s head coach Anitha Pauldurai, assistant coaches Shri Rohit and Shri Uma Kant, MP Smt. Rupakumari Chaudhary, Mahasamund MLA Shri Yogeshwar Raju Sinha, Collector of Mahasamund, President of Mahasamund District Basketball Association, and local players.
