MHADA Konkan Board Lottery 2025 Concludes Under the Auspices of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
Dreams of Homeownership Realised as 5,354 Houses and 77 Plots Allotted Through Transparent Computerized Draw
Thane, Oct 2025 : The MHADA Konkan Board Lottery–2025 concluded successfully today at Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium, Thane, under the auspices of Deputy Chief Minister and Thane District Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde. Through a computerized draw, 5,354 houses and 77 plots were allotted, bringing joy to thousands of aspiring homeowners.
The event was attended by Transport Minister Pratap SarnaiK, MP Naresh Mhaske, MLA Niranjan Davkhare, District Collector Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal, MHADA Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal, Konkan Board Chief Officer Revati Gaikar, other MHADA officials, and citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy CM Shinde expressed happiness over the event’s success, saying,
“Today is a day of fulfilment and happiness for thousands of common citizens whose dream of owning a home has come true. A home is not just four walls; it represents family security, self-respect, and prosperity. Those who have won today’s lottery will celebrate Diwali in their new homes, but even those who haven’t should not lose hope. MHADA continues to work for every aspiring homeowner.”
He highlighted that the draw for 5,354 homes and 77 plots was conducted in a completely transparent digital process, further strengthening public trust in MHADA. Shinde added,
“Over 1,84,994 applications were received for these homes — a clear reflection of people’s growing trust in MHADA’s quality, affordability, and timely completion of projects. MHADA is not merely a housing authority; it is a symbol of reliability and a source of happiness for the common man.”
The Deputy CM also mentioned that under his leadership as Housing Minister, a new MHADA policy prioritizing affordable housing has been introduced. The policy aims to provide homes for working women, senior citizens, students (hostels), and mill workers.
He further recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Housing for All”, noting that cluster development projects are being actively pursued to fulfil that goal.
“When Balasaheb Thackeray spoke of giving free homes to Mumbai’s 40 lakh slum dwellers, many doubted it could happen. Today, that vision is becoming a reality, and I’m proud we’ve begun turning it into action,” Shinde said.
He pointed to projects like Rambai Ambedkar Nagar in Mumbai, where SRA and MMRDA are jointly working to redevelop urban areas. Shinde emphasized that such joint ventures and cluster development models will accelerate stalled projects, leading to the creation of lakhs of new homes.
Discussing GST reforms, he noted that price differences in housing have reduced and that recent GST slab cuts by PM Modi have benefited both homebuyers and the working class, along with small traders.
Maharashtra, Shinde said, is the first state in India to implement a senior citizen housing policy, ensuring dignity and security for the elderly. He praised PM Modi for driving the national mission of “Roti, Kapda, Makaan” (Food, Clothing, and Shelter) through initiatives like MHADA, and affirmed the government’s commitment to creating more housing in Mumbai and the MMR region.
He concluded by emphasizing the broader social impact of cluster development, which includes open spaces, gardens, playgrounds, and medical facilities, saying that Maharashtra has pioneered this model not only in India but globally.
The event began with an introduction by MHADA Vice President and CEO Sanjeev Jaiswal.
