Appeal for Online Application for Home Guard Registration by 14th August
Mumbai : The Government-run Home Guard Organization is recruiting Home Guards on a voluntary basis. Membership is granted for three years and can be renewed up to the age of 58, based on the merit of service rendered. The online application process for home guard registration is open from 2nd to 14th August 2024.
There is no charge for Home Guard registration, and members are not assigned daily duties. Duties are assigned during emergencies and law and order situations based on police force demand. Home Guard members receive a duty allowance of Rs. 570 and a gift allowance of Rs. 100 per day during the service period. During training, they receive a pocket allowance of Rs. 35, a food allowance of Rs. 100, and a drill allowance of Rs. 90 for weekly drills. Home Guards also receive free training in military, firefighting, and first aid, various awards and medals for meritorious performance, and a 5% reservation in the State Police Force, Forest, and Fire Force after three years of service, allowing them to serve the country while managing their own business.
The educational qualification for home guards is a minimum of 10th pass, and applicants must be between 20 and 50 years old. The physical eligibility criteria are a height of 162 cm for males and 150 cm for females, with a chest measurement of 76 cm uninflated and 81 cm inflated for males. Physical ability tests include a 1600-meter run for male candidates, an 800-meter run for female candidates, and a shot put test. The Commissioner of Home Guard Brihanmumbai has provided this information in a press release.
Online applications for the Home Guard can be submitted on the website https://maharashtracdhg.gov.in/mahahg/enrollmentform.php in English until 5 PM on 14th August 2024. Each candidate can apply only once using their Aadhaar number. Applications are only accepted from Mumbai city and Mumbai Suburban district, under the Brihanmumbai Home Guard circle. Dates for document verification and physical tests will be announced after application scrutiny. Candidates must bring their Aadhaar Card, Voter Identity Card, Educational Qualification Certificate, SSC Board Certificate or School Leaving Certificate for Proof of Date of Birth, technical qualification certificates (if any), No Objection Certificate from their employer (if privately employed), a Police Character Verification Certificate (within the last 3 months), self-signed photocopies, two photographs, and original documents for verification.
Final candidate selection will be based on merit according to the vacant posts per police station. In cases of equal marks, the older candidate and, in cases of equal age, the candidate with higher educational qualifications or technical certificates will be selected. Home Guards previously retired due to inefficiency, indiscipline, or conviction are ineligible to apply. However, candidates who voluntarily resigned can apply if they meet the prescribed conditions. The final merit list will be published on the website. The Home Guard Commissioner reserves all rights to fix vacancies squad-wise and police station-wise. For Home Guard Registration, visit https://maharashtracdhg.gov.in/mahahg/enrollmentform.php. Select the “Online Enrollment Form” submenu from the HGs ENROLLMENT menu. Select the district, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, gender, full address, education, occupation, email id, type of technical qualification, and number of qualifications. Enter your Date of Birth, Height, and Previous Home Guard Service Status. Print out the application form after submitting it, and bring the printout along with the required documents for verification.
