Priority to Building Healthcare Infrastructure: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

MoU Signed for Establishment of a Multi-Purpose Dental Hospital and Research Centre at Aundh

Mumbai, Nov 2025 : The COVID-19 period made us realise the importance of the Health Department, the Medical Education Department, and the infrastructure available within them. Therefore, the state government has given priority to establishing a medical college in every district along with the required healthcare infrastructure, said Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

In the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, an MoU was signed between the Indian Dental Association, the Pune Zilla Parishad, and the District Government Hospital, Aundh, for setting up a multi-purpose dental hospital and research centre at Aundh.

Present on the occasion were Pune Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Gajanan Patil, Indian Dental Association President Dr. Shubhra Nandi, Dental Association Secretary Dr. Ashok Dhoble, and Deputy Chief Minister’s Joint Secretary Dr. Santosh Bhosale.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that this MoU marks a new chapter in the state’s public health services. Through this centre, affordable dental healthcare facilities will be available to common citizens. Health is not merely about treatment of diseases, but also involves four key components — prevention, awareness, education, and service. He expressed confidence that the establishment of this centre will help achieve these goals.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawar also appreciated the work of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), stating that with its strong network of dentists across the country, the organisation has been spreading awareness about dental health even in rural areas.
