TN CM Stalin Inaugurates Vellore Mini Textile Park, Lays Foundation for Rasipuram Park
Chennai, Nov 2025 — Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin today inaugurated the new Vellore Mini Textile Park, built at a cost of ₹32 crore, which will generate 600 new jobs for trained textile technicians. In a parallel event, he also laid the foundation stone for a new Mini Textile Park in Rasipuram (Namagiripettai), to be built at a cost of ₹37 crore, creating an additional 600 jobs in the textile sector.
The inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies were conducted virtually from the Secretariat under the Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce Department.
Expanding Tamil Nadu’s Textile Infrastructure
Tamil Nadu is home to both major Textile Parks and Mini Textile Parks. The state’s modern textile park system was pioneered in 2000 when former Chief Minister Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi established the Tiruppur Textile Park, laying the foundation for Tamil Nadu’s rise as a global textile hub.
In keeping with the state’s industrial policy of providing “industry-inclusive development”, Chief Minister Stalin has fast-tracked the expansion of textile infrastructure across Tamil Nadu:
- Tirunelveli: ₹314 crore investment, 5.34 lakh sq. ft built-up area
- Tiruchirappalli–Panchappur: ₹403 crore investment, 5.58 lakh sq. ft built-up area
(Foundation laid on 18.02.2025; construction progressing) - Padiyur (Pollachi): 5.57 lakh sq. ft, inaugurated on 22.11.2024
- Hosur: New Textile Park announced over 5 lakh sq. ft with an investment of ₹400 crore
Collectively, these parks will generate over 6,000 jobs for skilled textile professionals.
Accelerated Rollout of Mini Textile Parks

- Villupuram
- Tiruppur
- Vellore
- Thoothukudi
