PM Modi Says Bihar Mandate Rejects ‘Jungle Raj’ and Endorses NDA’s Vision

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday described the BJP-led NDA’s strong performance in the Bihar Assembly elections as a decisive mandate against the “jungle raj” and appeasement politics of the Grand Alliance. Addressing jubilant party workers and supporters at the BJP headquarters, he said the people of Bihar had fulfilled both requests he made during the campaign—voting in record numbers and giving the NDA a resounding mandate.

“The people of Bihar have voted for a developed Bihar. The people of Bihar have voted for a prosperous Bihar,” the Prime Minister said. He noted that during the elections, he had appealed to citizens to break past voting records, and they responded with unprecedented participation. “I had urged the people of Bihar to give the NDA a landslide victory, and they have honoured this request,” he added.

Taking aim at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its traditional “Maai” (Muslim-Yadav) equation, PM Modi said the youth of Bihar had rejected the politics of appeasement. Instead, he said, the voters had introduced a new interpretation of “Maai.”

“The people of Bihar have given a new meaning to ‘Maai’—women and youth,” he said. “Their dreams and aspirations have completely defeated the old ‘Maai’ formula that some parties have repeatedly promoted for political gain.”

The Prime Minister emphasised that this shift reflected the aspirations of a new generation seeking development, stability, and opportunity. He said the NDA’s agenda aligned with these aspirations and that the sweeping mandate was a validation of the coalition’s governance track record.

PM Modi also extended heartfelt appreciation to the NDA’s junior allies—Jitan Ram Manjhi, Upendra Kushwaha, and Chirag Paswan—whose contributions, he said, played a significant role in the alliance’s impressive victory. He praised their unity and cooperation, which strengthened the NDA’s position across the state.

He further lauded the relentless efforts of party booth workers, grassroots activists, and volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the campaign. Their dedicated outreach, he said, ensured the NDA’s message of development and good governance reached every corner of Bihar.

Calling the verdict a “historic victory,” the Prime Minister said the mandate would inspire the NDA to accelerate development initiatives and deliver on its promises to the people of Bihar.
