India Storm Into Semi-Finals With Dominant 10-Wicket Win Over USA

Bengaluru, Nov 2025 : India cruised into the semi-finals of the Cricket for the Blind 2025 Women’s T20 World Cup with a resounding ten-wicket victory over the USA, showcasing their growing dominance in the tournament. This win — their fourth consecutive — came in just their sixth match, firmly establishing India as one of the tournament’s strongest contenders.

For the USA Women’s Blind Cricket Team, the match carried deep significance. Making their World Cup debut, the team represents a groundbreaking initiative in the United States, where visually impaired women cricketers were identified, trained, and nurtured over the past year through an unprecedented developmental partnership with Indian organisations. Their participation itself marked a milestone, even as they faced a steep learning curve against an experienced Indian lineup.

Batting first, the USA showed determination but were restricted to 60/8 in 20 overs, undone by India’s disciplined bowling attack and exceptional fielding. Tatyana (17 off 41, B2) and Caroline (12 off 26, B2) resisted with grit, but wickets fell at regular intervals as India maintained sustained pressure. India’s balanced attack saw contributions from Simranjeet Kour (B2), Sunita Srathe (B2), Simu Das (B1), and Ganga Kadam (B3), each claiming a wicket. Sharp fielding across categories added multiple run-outs, underscoring India’s superior coordination and fitness.

India’s chase was nothing short of emphatic. Set a target of 61, they wrapped up the match in just 3.3 overs without losing a wicket. Player of the Match Simranjeet Kour smashed an unbeaten 31 off 12 balls (B2), combining power and precision, while Kavya N.R (B3) provided steady support with a brisk 21* off 12 balls. Their blistering partnership highlighted the stark experience gap between the two teams, yet the USA’s enthusiasm and fighting spirit stood out as defining features of their debut campaign.

With this commanding win, India now shift focus to one of the most anticipated clashes of the World Cup — a high-stakes encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday in Colombo. The match is expected to draw significant attention as both teams vie for momentum heading into the tournament’s final stages.
