Ghoomar Festival 2025 Radiates Cultural Splendour — A Unique Celebration of Women’s Power and Rajasthan’s Folk Heritage — “State’s Soul Reflected Through Ghoomar,” Says Assembly Speaker — Festival Gives New Wings to Women’s Empowerment, Cultural Preservation & Tourism: Shri Bhagirath Choudhary
Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Following the directions of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Ghoomar Festival 2025 was celebrated on Wednesday across all divisional headquarters of the state. At Ajmer’s Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan Government College, the festival was organised with grandeur, placing the pride of folk culture, women’s power, and Rajasthan’s invaluable dance heritage at its core.
As part of the Special Intensive Revision Programme, all participants and attendees were administered a pledge on voter awareness and fulfilling democratic duties. The programme began with Saraswati Vandana performed by the students of Savitri Girls’ School.
Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani said that the Ghoomar dance is a symbol of Rajasthan’s pride and carries the soul of the state. The dance reflects Rajasthan’s traditions and deep-rooted cultural values. Ghoomar is not just a dance, he said, but a cultural legacy passed down through generations—an artistic expression of womanhood, creativity, and folk aesthetics. The traditional attire, rhythmic music, and group performance create a captivating cultural scene that mesmerises the audience while showcasing the state’s cultural prestige.
He added that Ghoomar has earned recognition on international platforms and deserves to be listed globally by UNESCO.
Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Bhagirath Choudhary said that Ghoomar is the living dance-form of Rajasthan’s cultural soul. It brings alive the ethos, folk beauty, traditions, and the creative power of women on stage. When women swirl gracefully in the Ghoomar dance, the atmosphere transforms into one filled with folk emotion, serenity, and festive spirit.
He further stated that today, women stand at the centre of employment, skills, self-reliance, and cultural economy. Events like this not only preserve culture but also give national identity to tourism, create opportunities for local artists, and open new avenues of livelihood for women. Such initiatives are helping Ajmer emerge as a strong centre for cultural tourism.
On this occasion, Mayor Smt. Brijlata Hada, public representatives, officials, and a large number of citizens were present.
