Rohit Sharma Reclaims ODI Top Spot as Sikandar Raza Becomes No.1 T20I All-Rounder in Latest ICC Rankings
Nov 2025 : In a week of major movements across international cricket, India’s Rohit Sharma reclaimed the No.1 position in the ICC ODI batting rankings, while Zimbabwe’s veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza reached a historic milestone by becoming the top-ranked T20I all-rounder for the first time in his 13-year international career.
Raza Creates History in T20Is
Raza’s rise to the top reflects the exceptional form he has showcased throughout the ongoing tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and hosts Pakistan. His latest contribution—a brisk 37 with the bat coupled with four tightly bowled overs—came against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, even though Zimbabwe slipped to a nine-wicket defeat.
The all-round display was enough to push him past Pakistan’s Saim Ayub into the No.1 T20I all-rounder spot. This marks the first time the 39-year-old has reached the top of the T20I all-rounders chart, further highlighting his consistency in the shortest format.
Raza has remained a permanent fixture in the top 10 of T20I all-rounder rankings since the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. He also briefly held the No.1 position among ODI all-rounders in September and currently stands second in that category, cementing his reputation as one of the most impactful multi-format performers in world cricket.
While Ayub drops to second in the T20I all-rounder list, Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz climbs to seventh following a string of solid showings in the tri-series.
Pakistan Players Make Significant Gains
The latest rankings reflect upward mobility for several Pakistani players. Sahibzada Farhan jumped eight places to reach No.4 among T20I batters, continuing his impressive run. Former captain Babar Azam also made gains, rising five spots to No.29 after scoring a vital half-century in Pakistan’s recent outing.
Rohit Sharma Back at the ODI Summit
Rohit Sharma’s return to the top of the ODI batting rankings marks another key headline this week. New Zealand star Daryl Mitchell, who previously held the No.1 position, slipped after missing the last two matches of the Black Caps’ 3–0 series sweep over the West Indies. The absence cost him crucial rating points, allowing Rohit to reclaim the top spot.
Despite Mitchell’s drop, New Zealand had other positives:
- Rachin Ravindra moved up one spot to No.12
- Devon Conway surged 11 positions to No.31
On the West Indies side, skipper Shai Hope jumped two places to No.8 after scoring an unbeaten century in the second match of the series.
New Zealand also enjoyed gains in the ODI bowlers’ rankings, with Mitchell Santner climbing to No.6 and Matt Henry rising to joint 10th following their strong performance in the series.
Big Movements in Test Rankings
Across Test cricket, major reshuffles occurred following Australia’s victory over England in Perth and Bangladesh’s dominant win over Ireland in Mirpur.
Australia’s Travis Head, who played a crucial fourth-innings knock to secure victory, climbed four places to No.6 in the Test batting rankings. England’s Ollie Pope rose four spots to No.24.
Bangladesh saw four of their key players enjoy significant boosts:
- Mushfiqur Rahim jumped seven spots to No.30
- Litton Das rose eight places to No.37
- Mominul Haque climbed eight positions to joint No.46
Their performances came on the back of a commanding 217-run win against Ireland.
Among Test bowlers, Australia’s Mitchell Starc made one of the biggest leaps of the week, climbing four places to No.5 and achieving a career-best rating after his Player of the Match display in Perth. For Bangladesh, spinner Taijul Islam rose four positions to No.15.
In the Test all-rounders’ rankings, England captain Ben Stokes moved up to second, trailing only India’s Ravindra Jadeja, while Starc climbed two spots to enter the top five.
