Special focus on enhancing digital infrastructure in school education

The School Education Department has empowered teachers by providing them with digital tools to promote digital learning. National Education Policy–2020 emphasises the development of digital technology and recommends the availability of digital infrastructure, online teaching platforms and devices at all levels of schooling to prepare for the emerging future of technology.

Tablets have been provided to 2,43,000 teachers in primary and secondary government schools. Additionally, 44,000 teachers of government high schools and higher secondary schools have been provided tablets, which are being actively used to strengthen the teaching–learning process.

Robotics Labs

The Department has established Robotics Labs in 52 Sandeepani Schools across the state. This year, Atal Tinkering Labs have been developed in 458 PM Shri schools. High-performance PCs, printers, and UPS systems have been ensured in all 3,063 public education centres in the state. Digital e-content in science and mathematics has also been made available in government schools, keeping student convenience in mind.

Vocational Education

National Education Policy 2020 recommends the promotion of vocational education in schools. In Madhya Pradesh, 3,367 government schools have been equipped to provide vocational education as per the approved curriculum, covering 17 trades. Last year, over 4 lakh students were enrolled on classes 9 to 12, and this year, enrollment has increased to approximately 6 lakh students. Over the past two years, 690 government schools have introduced the Agriculture trade.

Career Week in the State

To provide career guidance to students, the state organised a Career Week in government schools this year. During the week, 2 lakh students from 4,311 government higher secondary schools received advice on career selection.
