Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde Urges Farmers to Attend State-Level Agricultural Festival at Parli Vaijnath

Mumbai : A five-day state-level agricultural festival has been organized by the Agriculture Department from Wednesday, August 21 to Sunday, August 25, at Parli Vaijnath in Beed district. The event will feature a grand agricultural exhibition, an animal exhibition, and various activities aimed at benefiting farmers across the state. Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde has appealed to farmers to attend the festival.

The festival will be inaugurated on Wednesday, August 21, at 12 noon by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.

Encouraging farmers to increase production under changing conditions is of utmost importance. By providing a platform for experimental and progressive farmers to exchange ideas, the event aims to boost their confidence. Adopting modern agricultural technology in a sustainable manner can help farmers improve economically and secure their place in the global competitive environment.

The festival will also serve as a platform for disseminating developed agricultural technologies, sharing information about government schemes, and establishing direct sales chains from farmers to consumers. Over 400 booths will facilitate direct interactions between farmers and senior agricultural scientists. Additionally, there will be presentations from all agricultural universities in the state, various research centers, agricultural science centers, and processing industries. The festival will feature a variety of events, including a Nutritious Cereal Festival, an Organic Farming Hall, a Buyers-Sellers Meeting, a Livestock Exhibition, and demonstrations of drone spraying. There will also be a Wild Vegetable Festival, a display and sale of grains and other agricultural products, and an exhibition organized by women’s self-help groups for the sale of goods and materials. It is anticipated that more than five lakh farmers will visit the festival.

Healthy food is vital for human health, and a balanced diet includes a variety of vegetables. Wild vegetables, fruits, and tuberous vegetables, which grow naturally in the wild or in fields, contain various nutrients and medicinal properties essential for the body. These wild vegetables are naturally pesticide-free, making them a valuable natural resource. An exhibition of wild vegetables has been organized at the festival to raise awareness of their health benefits and to encourage the sale of these vegetables, providing economic benefits to both rural and urban citizens.
