Plans for 62nd Teachers’ Day Celebration Finalized by Champhai Committee
Champhai : On 5th September 2024, the 62nd Teachers’ Day will be celebrated. In preparation for this, the Champhai District Working Committee held a meeting today, chaired by DC Pu VL Remliana, at the DC Conference Hall, Keifangtlang.
During the meeting, Chairman Pu VL Remliana expressed gratitude to the attendees and emphasized the significance and honor of the teaching profession. He urged the members to ensure that the celebration is conducted with the respect it deserves, following the conclusion of the meeting.
Champhai District Education Officer (DEO) Pu C. Lalbiakzauva presented a review of last year’s (2023) Teachers’ Day celebration. He highlighted that all teachers, whether in government or private schools, contribute ₹200 annually to the National Teachers’ Welfare Fund (NTWF). This fund supports teachers in cases of illness or accidents, with assistance up to ₹30,000. He praised the teachers for their effective use of the fund.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on the specifics of the upcoming Teachers’ Day celebration, which will be organized at the school level. Schools will be free to plan their events in collaboration with Village Councils, NGOs, Students’ Unions, and School Management Committees. Government officials will not have designated roles but can participate in any capacity.
Additionally, the committee plans to organize a ‘Panel Discussion’ on educational topics, to be aired on Cable TV and Social Media, and to display Standees and Banners across Champhai town.
The committee also acknowledged and congratulated Pu C. Lalhrilliana, Teacher of Govt. Vengthlang Middle School, Champhai, who will receive the Mizoram State Award to Teachers 2024. The District Education Committee will handle the award presentation.
The meeting was attended by government officials, along with representatives from Joint VC, YMA, MHIP, MJA, MZP, and various educational organizations within the district.
