National conference and seminar of agricultural engineers organized at Agricultural University on 29th and 30th August
The 36th National Conference and National Seminar of Agricultural Engineers is being organized on 29th and 30th August at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. The seminar will be organized on the topic “Contribution of Agricultural Engineers in Improving Rural Economy for Sustainable Development”. Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam has congratulated and wished for organizing this national level program. He said that the conference of agricultural engineers will bring out new facts in the interest of the development of the agricultural sector of the state and the farmers. New information will come out regarding the use of modern agricultural techniques, measures to increase production.
This national program is being organized under the joint aegis of Institution of Engineers (India) Chhattisgarh State Center, Raipur and Swami Vivekanand Agricultural Engineering and Technology College and Research Center, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur.
In the National Conference cum Seminar, there will be detailed discussions and research papers will be presented on topics that are relevant to the development of agriculture in the present times such as conservation and management of engineering inputs, farm machinery, agricultural processing and value addition, non-conventional energy sources, soil and water conservation and management. These will mainly include meaningful dialogues, demonstrations, presentations and exchange of views on topics such as mechanization of activities from plowing-sowing to harvesting-threshing and processing in agriculture, use of drones in agriculture, use of remote sensing and geographic information system, use of state-of-the-art technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics and IoT in agriculture horticulture.
In the program, the increasing importance of agricultural engineers in the context of climate change and decreasing availability of agricultural workers in the timely execution of agricultural work and the immense possibilities of entrepreneurship development in areas like custom hiring will be highlighted. Engineers, entrepreneurs, scientists, industrialists, researchers, progressive farmers and scholars from various educational institutions of the country will participate in this program and will finalize an appropriate strategy to increase the income of farmers.

Mal, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice Chancellor of Parbhani University, Dr. Indramani, Dr. Singh Vice Chancellor of Meerut University, Dr. Gaur Vice Chancellor, Vaishali, Bihar, Dr. Ambastha Chairman, Central Ground Water Board, Government of India, New Delhi, Dr. Sayali, Secretary and Director General, Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata, Dr. A.K. Singh, Assistant Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Government of India, New Delhi, Dr. Ramana Rao, Director NIT, Raipur, Dr. Mehta Director, Central Agricultural Engineering Institute, Bhopal, along with renowned subject experts from across the country will participate.
