Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, while reviewing the anti-Maoist terror campaign going on in Chhattisgarh and neighboring states in Raipur today, said that the Chhattisgarh government has achieved very good success on every front in the anti-Maoist terror campaign in Chhattisgarh. The amount of work done in Chhattisgarh to stop Maoist terror in the last eight months has never been done before. Praising Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, he said that the area of ​​​​Maoists has become very limited. The Chhattisgarh government is taking very good action in the anti-Naxal campaign. The speed and effective action taken by the Sai government in 8 months, in which 150 Maoist terrorists were neutralized and 4 times more people surrendered, has not happened anywhere in the whole of India till date. He directed to speed up this action further.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said that I talk to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister regularly, the Government of India will provide whatever help Chhattisgarh needs in the fight against Naxalites. He emphasized that the central and state agencies should work together to break the financial links of Naxalites. Tax agencies should also be sensitive and take action to break the financial links of Naxalites. Union Home Minister Shri Shah also directed to run community awareness programs in Naxal-affected areas. He said that people should be given correct information about government schemes, processes and intent.

The Union Home Minister said that people should also be informed about the schemes of the Central Government. We have to ensure that there is 100% saturation of all 300 schemes of the Centre and the State and their complete implementation. It should be ensured that the problem does not arise again in the areas where Maoist terror has ended. People in these areas should be given 100% benefit of the schemes of the Central and State Government. He said that any armed movement can be ended only by creating faith in the government among the people. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah announced to give 30 crores for the modernization of Chhattisgarh Police.

Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Shri Ashok Juneja gave a presentation on security arrangements in Naxal-affected areas, progress of anti-Maoist terror operations and future plans. During the discussion on this, the Union Home Minister directed to provide maximum facilities to the people of Naxal-affected areas. He said that at present it is clear that more and more of Chhattisgarh’s Maoists want to surrender, we should have comprehensive information about the surrender scheme.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Union Minister of State for Home Shri Nityanand Rai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Union Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan, Directors General of IB, NIA, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Shri Amitabh Jain, Director General of Police Shri Ashok Juneja, Chief Secretaries and Directors General of Police of Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and senior officers of Central and State Government were present in the meeting.
