Bodybuilding is Extraordinary Discipline of Physical Excellence : CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that bodybuilding is an extraordinary discipline of physical excellence and dedication. He remarked that sculpting the human body through rigorous training is as challenging as carving fine lines on a marble statue. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, sports in the country are reaching new heights, and the New Education Policy has also given significant importance to sports.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced a financial support of ₹5 lakh to the Indian Body Builders Federation and also honoured national player and Padma Shri awardee Shri Premchand Degra. He was addressing the grand closing ceremony of the 17th Senior Men’s and Women’s National Bodybuilding Championship held at the Basketball Complex in Indore on Sunday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav felicitated the winners of the two-day Bodybuilding Championship–2026 and appreciated the talent and dedication of the athletes participating in the competition. The championship was organised by the State Bodybuilding Association under the aegis of the Indian Body Builders Federation, Mumbai, with enthusiastic participation from athletes across the country.

During the final round of the competition, five athletes—Tonu Kumar from Punjab, Riyaz T.K. from Kerala, Prashant Kanukar from Karnataka, Pankaj Singh Bisht from Uttarakhand and Harish Walugunda from Telangana, impressed the audience with the seven mandatory bodybuilding poses.

The event was attended by Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, MLAs Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Mahendra Hardia, Shri Golu Shukla and Smt. Malini Gaur, along with Indore Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade, Police Commissioner Shri Santosh Kumar Singh, Collector Shri Shivam Verma and Municipal Commissioner Shri Kshitij Singhal, besides public representatives, athletes from various states and sports enthusiasts.
