CM Sai has declared holiday on the occasion of Rishi Panchami-Nuakhai in the districts dominated by Utkal community

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, while addressing the closing ceremony of the grand procession organized by Utkal Gada Samaj on the occasion of Mahaparva Nuakhai at Gaus Memorial Ground in the capital Raipur today, announced holiday on Rishi Panchami-Nuakhai in districts dominated by Utkal Samaj. On the demand of the Samaj, he also announced to provide land to Utkal Samaj for Samaj Bhawan in the capital Raipur and renovation of Budhi Maa Temple. The Chief Minister also assured the Samaj that efforts will be made to remove the difficulties being faced in making caste certificates of the students of Utkal Gada Samaj.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, a large number of officials and members of Utkal Gada Samaj including MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Motilal Sahu, saints of Utkal Samaj Shri Udaynath Maharaj and Shri Gagan Bihari Maharaj were present.

The Chief Minister congratulated and wished the Utkal Gada community on Nuakhai. He said that the organization of a grand procession by the community five days before Nuakhai is a proof of their enthusiasm for Nuakhai and the unity of the community. He said that for the progress of the society, it is necessary that the community pays attention to the education of children. Educate your sons and daughters. The young generation should stay away from the social evil of drug addiction. The Chief Minister also assured that the reasonable demands of the community will be met.

The Chief Minister said that Odisha is our neighbouring state. Chhattisgarh shares a deep bond with Odisha. We share deep social and cultural ties with Odisha. Nuakhai is the main festival of Utkal society, and Nuakhai also holds great importance in Chhattisgarh. The tribal society also celebrates the festival of Nuakhai with great enthusiasm when the new crop arrives. On Nuakhai, the new crop is taken home and worshipped. Rice and chuda are prepared from it and offered to their deity and they pray for a good crop, happiness, prosperity and a happy life.

The Chief Minister gave detailed information about the work done by the new government in the last eight months to fulfill Modi ji’s guarantee. He said that whenever he visits the state, people keep saying that the state government is working in a haphazard manner. He said that the new government approved 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas in just eight months. 21 quintals of paddy per acre was purchased from the farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. The state government purchased 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 24.72 lakh farmers. Yesterday, on the occasion of Teeja-Pora festival, an amount of Rs 1000 each of the seventh installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana was released in the accounts of more than 70 lakh mothers and sisters. He said that under the Ramlala scheme, 850 devotees are being sent for the darshan of Ramlala every eight-ten days at the government’s expense. The purchase of tendu leaves in tribal areas was increased from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 5500 per standard sack. CBI is investigating the PSC scam. Liquor, coal and Naan scams are also being investigated. The culprits are being sent to jail.

Utkal Samaj’s saints Shri Udaynath Maharaj and Shri Gagan Bihari Maharaj along with MLA Shri Purandar Mishra and Shri Motilal Sahu addressed the program and wished the society on Nuakhai. The officials of the society apprised the chief guest of the demands of the society. On this occasion, people of Utkal Samaj were present in large numbers.
