Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Inaugurates Creche

Aizawl : Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Shri Vijay Bishnoi inaugurated a creche on the second floor of the Gauhati High Court Aizawl Bench building. The event was also attended by Gauhati High Court Judges, Pu Michael Zothankhuma and Justice Kaushik Goswami.

The newly inaugurated creche was established through the efforts of Mission Shakti, Aizawl Urban ICDS Project, under the Government of Mizoram’s initiative in collaboration with the Women and Child Development (WCD) Department. The creche aims to provide better care and facilities for women and children, enabling mothers to pursue their education and employment with greater ease. The project, PALNA – Anganwadi Cum Creche, was developed to ensure smooth implementation and support. It aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 8 of the United Nations, which emphasizes decent work and economic growth through safe and productive labor practices.

Under this scheme, children aged 6 months to 6 years, whose mothers are employed, can be cared for at the facility while their mothers work. The creche will provide not only a safe space for children to rest and play but also a day care facility in conjunction with Anganwadi services.

The inauguration was attended by the Mizoram Law Secretary, WCD Secretary and Director, as well as officials from the High Court and advocates from the High Court Bar.
