Yogi government to add 120 electric buses to UPSRTC fleet

Lucknow : In a significant move to boost eco-friendly transportation, the Yogi government has initiated the process to add 120 new electric buses to the fleet of the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). This addition comes on top of the existing 100 electric buses.

The tender process for these buses is set to commence shortly. The new electric buses, equipped with modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology, will be deployed in key areas including Aligarh, Moradabad, Lucknow, Ayodhya, and Gorakhpur.

The deployment plan includes 30 buses each for Aligarh and Moradabad, while Lucknow, Ayodhya, and Gorakhpur will receive 20 buses each.

Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh has provided a comprehensive breakdown of the electric bus deployment across various regions of Uttar Pradesh.

In the Aligarh region, 10 electric buses will operate on the Aligarh-Noida route via Jewar, 4 buses on the Aligarh-Balabgarh-Faridabad route, 4 on the Aligarh-Mathura route, 8 on the Aligarh-Kaushambi route via Khurja, and 4 on the Aligarh-Dibai-Anupshahr-Sambhal-Moradabad route.

Similarly, the Moradabad region will see 30 electric buses. These will include 10 buses on the Moradabad-Kaushambi route, 6 on the Moradabad-Meerut route, 4 on the Moradabad-Najibabad Kotwar route, 2 on the Katghar-Bareilly route, 4 on the Katghar-Haldwani route, 2 on the Katghar-Aligarh route, and 2 on the Katghar-Ramnagar route.

In Lucknow, 20 electric buses will be deployed on the New Barabanki Station to Awadh Bus Station route. Ayodhya will also receive 20 electric buses, including 4 on the Ayodhya-Lucknow route, 4 on the Ayodhya-Gorakhpur route, 6 on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj-Gonda route, and 6 on the Ayodhya-Sultanpur-Varanasi route.

The Gorakhpur region will operate 20 electric buses, including 3 on the Gorakhpur-Azamgarh-Varanasi route, 3 on the Gorakhpur-Ghazipur-Varanasi route, 4 on the Gorakhpur-Ayodhya route, 4 on the Gorakhpur-Sonauli route, 2 on the Gorakhpur-Maharajganj-Thuthibari route, 1 each on the Gorakhpur-Siddharthnagar and Gorakhpur-Padrauna routes, and 2 on Gorakhpur-Tamkuhi route.
