The New Collector’s Office Building to be a State-of-the-Art Facility: Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Bhoomipujan Ceremony of the Divisional Commissioner’s and Collector’s Offices
Nagpur : With a comprehensive vision for administrative facilities, we have established several state-level offices and amenities in Nagpur. The Police Commissioner’s Office here serves as an exemplary model of this. The state-of-the-art sports complex at Mankapur, being developed under the guidance of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, is also a testament to this. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed confidence that the Divisional Commissioner’s Office and the Collector’s Office, inaugurated today, will also become outstanding, model facilities in the state.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Divisional Commissioner’s and Collector’s Offices, which will add to Nagpur’s administrative infrastructure, Fadnavis was joined by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, MLA Parinay Phuke, MLA Praveen Datke, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Maharashtra State Infrastructure Development Corporation Managing Director Brijesh Dixit, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Vinayak Mahamuni, Additional Collector Tushar Thombre, Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kulkarni, Resident Deputy Collector Anup Khande, and other senior officials.
Fadnavis noted that the Collector’s Office, which has been in use since the British era, has become outdated and inconvenient. Given the district’s population growth and the expanding needs of public administration, a modern, technologically advanced building was necessary. In discussions about the new Divisional Commissioner’s Office, it was decided to construct a complex with two separate towers. Fadnavis praised Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar and his entire team for their consistent dedication and efficiency, congratulating them on their efforts.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari emphasized that the revenue department is integral to every section of society, and modernizing its operations is crucial for providing timely and cost-effective services. He added that with these new facilities, the department would be able to operate more efficiently, offering better services to the people—a key indicator of good governance. Gadkari also acknowledged Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis for his role in expediting administrative improvements in the district.
