National Team to Review Central Government Schemes During Rajasthan Tour
Jaipur : Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary of the Animal Husbandry Department, stated during a meeting on Monday that the benefits of various schemes must reach the intended beneficiaries to achieve the department’s goals. The meeting was held with National Level Monitors (NLM) from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Government of India, at the Rajasthan Livestock Development Board auditorium in Jaipur.
The meeting’s purpose was to evaluate the implementation of several central government schemes in Rajasthan, including the National Gokul Mission (RGM), National Livestock Mission (NLM), National Dairy Development Program (NPDD), and Livestock Health and Disease Control Program (LHDCP). The session marked the beginning of a week-long field tour, where NLM will assess projects across the state.
Presentations were given by officials from the Animal Husbandry Department and Livestock Development Board, covering the current status, outputs, and challenges associated with these schemes. The NLM will visit Jodhpur, Kota, Alwar, and Sikar districts to gather input from local cattle breeders on their needs and the schemes’ effectiveness. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for October 19 in Jaipur.
The review aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficient implementation, ultimately empowering livestock farmers while meeting the program targets. The session was chaired by Dr. Sharma, IAS, with participation from senior officials, including Shri Jagat Hazarika, Shri V.P. Singh, and other department representatives.
