Chief Minister Approves ₹3.14 Crore for 53 Projects in One Municipal Corporation and Two Municipalities Under the Private Society Public Participation Scheme

Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has approved a total allocation of ₹3.14 crore from the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana for 53 projects across Vadodara Municipal Corporation, Jasdan, and Vijapur Municipalities under the  Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana) Component. The Chief Minister has approved funding for 50 projects worth ₹2.78 crore in Vadodara Municipal Corporation. Additionally, the CM has sanctioned ₹19.17 lakh to Jasdan Municipality for CC road works and ₹17.43 lakh to Vijapur Municipality for CC road and paver block works.

In 2010, to commemorate Gujarat’s 50th anniversary, the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana. To date, under this Scheme’s Private Society Public Participation Scheme (Khaangi Society Janbhaagidari Yojana) Component, the state government has allocated ₹2,112.23 crore for 36,418 projects in municipal corporations and ₹318.83 crore for 7,334 municipal projects. In total, the state government has sanctioned ₹2,430.46 crore for 43,752 projects.

Under this scheme, municipal corporations and municipalities can receive grants for basic common facilities in private societies within their jurisdictions. These facilities include roads, paver blocks, water lines, drainage lines, street lights, rainwater harvesting systems, and paver block installations in common plots of societies. The grants are provided on a 70:20:10 basis. Accordingly, 70% of the total project cost is covered by the state government, 20% by the private society, and 10% by the local authority. This public-private partnership model enables private societies to implement essential infrastructure projects with shared responsibility.
