Chief Minister’s Running Trophy Hnam Lam Competition Kharna Chief Minister-In Hmanpui
Aizawl : Today, the Art & Culture Department and Central YMA organized the Chief Minister’s Running Trophy for the 13th time at Dawrpui Multipurpose Centre. Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma inaugurated the event, attended by Pu C. Lalsawivunga, the Art & Culture Minister.
During the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of various cultural expressions, stating that they reflect our identity, language, songs, lifestyle, and values. He noted that these elements are blessings from God, and while humanity may sometimes forget their significance, our identity as a community should never fade. The Chief Minister encouraged everyone to strive for excellence in their respective fields, reminding them that even minor setbacks should not discourage their efforts. He expressed hope that they would uplift the Mizo community through their actions.
The event will feature displays based on 18 key moments from Lord Ram’s life, including themes such as education, the marriage of Ram and Sita, Ram’s exile, Bharat’s meeting with Ram, the Shabari episode, Ashoka Vatika, Hanuman’s journey to Lanka, Lakshman’s unconsciousness due to the Shakti arrow, the defeat of Ravana, Ram’s return to Ayodhya, and the essence of the festival. The preparations for these displays have already begun.
Additionally, 18 tableaux will be presented at Sakei Mahavidhyalaya, with 11 prepared by the Information Department and 7 by the Tourism Department, showcasing various chapters from the Ram Charit Manas, including Bal Kanda, Ayodhya Kanda, Aranya Kanda, Sundar Kanda, Kishkindha Kanda, Lanka Kanda, and Uttar Kanda.
The Chief Minister remarked that the celebrations of the 13th Deepotsav aim to promote the uniqueness of the event, which has garnered attention not only within the country but globally as well. The collaboration between the Art & Culture Department and Central YMA has been vital in making the festival a grand occasion.
Pu C. Lalsawivunga highlighted that through this event, cultural pride and identity are being reinforced, and he encouraged everyone to embrace their heritage wholeheartedly.
The Chief Minister also emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the cultural activities and initiatives that foster community engagement. He expressed appreciation for the contributions of YMA members in this endeavor.
The event concluded with remarks from Pi Carol VLMS Dawngkimi, Director of Art & Culture, Pu Lalhmachhuana, President of Central YMA, and Pu C. Lalthlamuana, Secretary of the Cultural Sub Committee, who provided a report on the event’s success.
In this year’s competition, Branch YMA 42 members from Khuallam and Cheraw participated. The Chief Minister’s Running Trophy winners were as follows:

In the performance section, the winners were:

- Third Place: Ramthar Branch YMA
Overall, the event was successfully organized under the guidance of Pu Roneihthanga, Treasurer of Central YMA, who shared insights about the competition.
