Innovation for Improving Health Standards — State Review Mission Launched from Karauli District
Jaipur : Under the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma and the direction of Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, the Department of Medical and Health has undertaken an innovation in the form of a State Review Mission aimed at strengthening health services, ensuring smooth operations, and improving health standards. This mission will involve district-wise inspections and review meetings across the state. The mission was launched on Thursday in Karauli district under the guidance of Principal Secretary Smt. Gayatri Rathore.
Prior to this, nine teams of officials from the headquarters arrived in Karauli on October 22 and visited 21 medical institutions and several households across all blocks over three days to assess the health facilities. These teams presented the actual state of health services during the review meeting held at the district headquarters.
Principal Secretary Smt. Gayatri Rathore, speaking at the review meeting held at Karauli Medical College, stated that improving health standards in all districts is the state’s top priority. She emphasized achieving 100% targets in areas such as maternal and child health services, institutional deliveries, immunization, TB eradication, and hygiene. She further emphasized that state-run health programs and schemes should reach the grassroots level without any difficulty for the public in accessing tests, treatments, etc.
Strive to Achieve 100% Targets—
Smt. Rathore called for increasing public awareness about institutional deliveries and immunization in Karauli district. She directed that activities under Maternal, Child Health, and Nutrition Day in various blocks be improved to meet the set targets. She instructed that all FRUs (First Referral Units) in the district be made operational as soon as possible and called for enhancing various parameters to get more medical institutions certified under the National Quality Assurance Scheme. She also stressed regular updates on the e-Equipment portal to ensure prompt maintenance of malfunctioning equipment.
Ensure Full Benefits of Schemes Reach Remote Areas—
Smt. Rathore emphasized providing all necessary facilities in Ramashray wards, which cater to senior citizens. She highlighted the importance of effective implementation of the Maa-Voucher Scheme to improve maternal and child health, particularly in backward and remote areas.
She noted that the Chief Minister’s Ayushman Arogya Yojana is an ambitious initiative aimed at freeing the public from healthcare expenses, and eligible individuals should be easily enrolled and receive the full benefits under the scheme. She also issued instructions for the proper disposal of biomedical waste according to guidelines and for training and capacity-building concerning the disposal and use of medical equipment.
Adopt Protective Measures Against Silicosis—
Given the severity of silicosis in Dausa and Karauli districts, she emphasized focusing on protective measures, screening, and maintaining transparency in issuing silicosis certificates. Additionally, she called for timely medical treatment and financial assistance for those affected under the silicosis policy, along with effective measures for the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases through CHOs (Community Health Officers).
Pay Special Attention to Cleanliness—
During inspections, most medical institutions in Karauli district were found to have good sanitation, sufficient human resources, and adequate availability of tests and medicines, which pleased the Principal Secretary. She directed that immediate steps be taken to improve these facilities wherever needed, with regular inspections and comprehensive measures for cleanliness and medical services. She also reviewed the Ayushman Arogya Mandir, the condition of medical institution buildings, ambulance services, the Chief Minister’s free medicine and testing scheme, and the payment of staff salaries.
The meeting was attended by RMSCL Managing Director Smt. Neha Giri, IEC Director Shri Shaheen Ali Khan, RCH Director Dr. Sunit Ranawat, and other officials who shared findings from their inspections in Karauli district and suggested necessary steps for improvement.
