Lunglei South MLA Pu Lalramliana Papuia Presides Over Day Two of Leitlangpui Music Festival 2024

November : The second day of the Leitlangpui Music Festival 2024 continued today at Kawmzawl, Lunglei, with Lunglei South MLA Pu Lalramliana Papuia presiding over the proceedings.

In his speech, Pu Lalramliana Papuia expressed gratitude towards government officials and the Tourism Department for their dedication and support in organizing the festival. He highlighted the importance of honoring traditions handed down from ancestors while acknowledging the government’s consistent efforts to celebrate cultural heritage. Referencing the historic “Serkawn Concert,” which has been held since 1932, he noted its significance in nurturing new music and local talents. Pu Papuia expressed hope that the Leitlangpui Music Festival would continue this legacy, fostering fresh talent and new music that would resonate across Mizoram and beyond.

The MLA emphasized that while the festival has been successful, its true impact lies in bringing value to the community. He stated that investing in building roads, buying essential goods, and utilizing resources wisely should be a priority alongside such cultural events. He urged attendees to enjoy the festival responsibly, reminding them that joy and unity in these celebrations make life truly meaningful. He stressed the need to use such occasions to highlight young talent while maintaining decorum and celebrating with dignity.

The day’s events included a band contest featuring eight finalists: Abstract Analogy, Fredys, Hill Side, Mezzo Ford, Phawthira Leh A Ṭhiante, QR Code, Sword Tune, and Trigger 02. The contest showcased their exceptional musical skills. The evening culminated in a concert that continued until late night, adding vibrancy to the festival.
