Chhattisgarh School Education Department Secretary Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi has instructed the schools of the state to prepare seriously to increase the efficiency of the schools in view of the National Assessment Survey. It is worth noting that on 4 December next month, a national survey of the efficiency of students of class 3rd, 6th and 9th is to be conducted. Under this, the Central School Education Ministry will test the efficiency of students in various schools of Chhattisgarh.

Education Secretary Shri Siddharth Komal Pardeshi has directed the departmental officers to start comprehensive administrative, managerial and academic preparations at every level keeping in mind the National Examination Survey. He has said that to ensure 100% implementation of the assessment work of National Examination Survey-2024 in all the districts, the District Education Officer, District Mission Coordinator and Principal DIET have been jointly made nodal officers. It is noteworthy that 99 district level officers of the state will take responsibility for implementation of examination in the district. At the same time, BEO, BRCC and Cluster Principal have been appointed as nodal officers in 146 development blocks by giving them joint responsibility.

Education Secretary Mr. Pardeshi informed that the primary objective of this survey being conducted simultaneously across the country under the National Education Policy-2020 is to develop high quality global assessment along with the National Curriculum Framework 2023 for school education. It is noteworthy that the National Education Policy-2020 proposed by the Central Government has also been implemented in Chhattisgarh. In this national survey, the efficiency of students is being assessed at the end of the basic initial and middle stages in class 3rd, 6th and 9th in accordance with the goals of the new education policy. This survey will prove to be an evaluation of not only the students of Chhattisgarh but also of teachers, schools and the entire education system, on the basis of which the educational quality of all other states including Chhattisgarh will be ranked at the national level in future.

He told that in the PARIKH national survey, 45 questions will be asked in 90 minutes from language, mathematics and the world around us for class 3rd. For class 6th, 51 questions related to the above subjects will be asked in 90 minutes. In class 9th, 60 questions from language, mathematics, science, social science will have to be solved in 120 minutes. Candidates will be given only one question paper. There will be no minus marking in PARIKH assessment. As per the rules of the central government, the survey i.e. question paper will be on the first language of the medium of which the school has been selected. If many English medium schools are selected as sample schools, then an assessment test will be set in English language there.

As sample schools for the National Survey 2024 in the state, the government schools, state government grant-in-aid schools, non-grant-in aided private schools, central, Navodaya schools of the district have been directly selected and determined by the Government of India, School Education Department, New Delhi. A total of 3420 have been selected in 33 districts for the state of Chhattisgarh. The biggest feature of this evaluation survey or examination is that for transparency and fairness of the evaluation work, no government or non-government teacher of the School Education Department will be appointed as an examiner or supervisor, rather the basic work of the examination will be done by student teachers or trainee teachers i.e. trainees of D.El.Ed, B.Ed and M.Ed studying in the government diet colleges of the state.

In special circumstances, students of government colleges and D.El.Ed, B.Ed, M.Ed trainees of non-government training institutes can be taken. Around 3800 such student teachers who conduct examination work are being trained through 33 DIETs of the district so that they can complete the examination work smoothly and without any hindrance. For the transparent implementation of this survey, the administrative and academic staff of CBSE has been appointed as observers by the Government of India who will do monitoring at each designated examination center.

So that the students of the state can display their academic proficiency at the national level, as a pre-preparation for the PARIKH National Survey, SCERT and Samagra Shiksha State Project Work have provided question bank and reading cards to the students of class 3rd, 6th and 9th of all the schools of the state. Mock tests are being specially organized for them in all private and government schools.
