“Measures to Prevent BEST Bus Accidents to be Implemented” – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Nagpur : The accident involving a BEST bus in Mumbai is serious, and the state government has taken note of it. Measures are being taken to prevent such incidents, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said.

The Chief Minister was speaking on the proposal raised by Legislative Council member Sunil Shinde under Rule 289 in the Legislative Council. Mr. Fadnavis said that the driver of the BEST bus involved in the accident has been investigated. Following this incident, random checks have been initiated. A demand for 1300 new buses has been made to increase the fleet, and these buses will soon be joining the BEST fleet. Based on the assessment of the condition of BEST buses, instructions have been given to the Mumbai Municipal Commissioner to discuss with the BEST officials and prepare a plan for implementing corrective measures. Chief Minister Fadnavis also mentioned this.

The Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council, Dr. Neelam Gorhe, was the presiding officer.
