Assam Rifles Organizes 14th Rozgar Mela In Mizoram – Empowering The Nation’s Youth

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), proudly organized the 14th Rozgar Mela on 23rd December 2024 in Aizawl, Mizoram. A remarkable total of 126 candidates were handed appointment letters for prestigious roles across various organizations: Assam Rifles (78), Department of Posts (11), SSB (1), ITBP (2), Railways (1), and MZU (33), marking a significant step toward employment empowerment and regional development.

In Aizawl, the event was orchestrated by Assam Rifles, the “Sentinels of the North East,” on behalf of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The occasion was graced by Professor S. P. Singh Baghel, the Honorable Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and Panchayati Raj, who personally distributed appointment letters to the candidates. His inspiring presence reaffirmed the government’s commitment to harnessing the potential of the youth for nation-building.

The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Girish Upadhya, SM, VSM, Deputy Inspector General, Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, alongside senior officials from other paramilitary forces, including ITBP and SSB. Together, these leaders symbolized the collaborative efforts driving India’s employment and development missions forward.

The Rozgar Mela represents more than just an event; it is a movement, a powerful testament to the government’s commitment to empowering its youth, especially in regions like Mizoram. By opening doors to secure and impactful careers, it addresses aspirations, uplifts communities, and strengthens the foundation of a vibrant India.

Assam Rifles played a pivotal role in preparing the candidates for successful selection. The rigorous pre-recruitment training programs conducted by Assam Rifles covered essential areas, including physical fitness preparation and guidance for written exams. This comprehensive mentorship ensured the candidates were well-equipped to meet the challenges of the selection process and achieve their aspirations. All three Battalions under Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles conducted pre-recruitment training for a total of 210 candidates at Aizawl, 23 candidates at Serchhip, and 52 candidates at Lunglei. Of these, 38 individuals cleared the physical and written exams, and 32 individuals made it to the merit list for SSC(GD) recruitment. The maximum number of successful candidates came from those who received pre-recruitment training at the 2AR ground, which is, in the true sense, a launchpad for providing golden career opportunities to those eager to harness their potential through resolve and hard work.

Assam Rifles remains steadfast in its mission to foster opportunities and transform lives, as evidenced by the successful conduct of the Rozgar Mela in Mizoram for the second time. Such initiatives continue to bridge the gap between youth and their aspirations, shaping a brighter future for the nation.
