Rs 53.95 crore approved for land acquisition of five irrigation projects in Kabirdham district
With the aim of expanding irrigation facilities and increasing agricultural productivity in Kabirdham district, the state government has approved an amount of Rs 53 crore 95 lakh for land acquisition for five major irrigation projects. The Water Resources Department has already deposited 80 percent of the amount through the e-Kuber portal. The survey of 42 villages of the district has been completed for these projects, in which a total of 149.229 hectares of land of 716 farmers will be acquired.
In Ghatola Reservoir Project of Kabirdham district, 8.472 hectares of land of 26 farmers from 3 villages, in Jagmadwa Reservoir Project, 67.79 hectares of land of 286 farmers from 15 villages, in Baroda Khurd Reservoir Project, 44.260 hectares of land of 205 farmers from 13 villages, in Rampur Barenda Diversion Project, 5.786 hectares of land of 56 farmers from 2 villages, in Hop River Diversion Scheme, 22.920 hectares of land of 141 farmers from 9 villages will be acquired.
Collector Shri Gopal Verma has called an important meeting on Saturday to resolve land acquisition cases in an effective and timely manner. He directed the SDM, Tehsildar, Revenue Inspector, Halka Patwari, and engineers of the Water Resources Department to be present in the meeting with all the necessary documents and records. Patwaris have been specially instructed to be present with their bags.
With the implementation of these projects, the farmers of Kabirdham district will get better irrigation facilities, which will increase their crop production capacity. The collector has given instructions to complete the land acquisition process in a transparent and timely manner. The amount sanctioned for land acquisition has been transferred to the Water Resources Department. Now the land acquisition process will be completed soon.
