“40% Water Supply Shortage at Tilak Marg and Bengali Market Reservoirs in NDMC Area”
New Delhi: Water supply from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is about 40% short at Tilak Marg and Bengali Market Underground Reservoir (UGR) in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area.
The DJB has informed us that the production of potable water from the Wazirabad water plant is not running at full capacity due to the non-availability of raw water. Hence, water supply in the command area of Tilak Marg UGR and Bengali Market UGR will be available once a day, preferably in the morning.
As a result, water supply will be affected in areas like Bengali Market, Ashoka Road, Harichand Mathur Lane, Copernicus Marg, Purana Quila Road, Babar Road, Barakhamba, K.G. Marg, Windsor Place, Firozeshah Marg, Canning Lane, and surrounding areas.
Consumers in the affected NDMC areas may contact the Control Room for Water Tanker Supply at the following phone numbers: 011-23360683, 011-23743642.
The NDMC is appealing to residents to save water and use it judiciously. Water is essential to life, but there is a limited supply available. This means that consumers must use our limited supply carefully. Water conservation is important to protect our resources and ensure that everyone has access to this vital natural resource.
Water conservation involves using water efficiently by using only the required quantity and minimizing waste by fixing every leakage. Develop methods to use less water and get more benefits out of it. Reuse water whenever possible and recycle it for other purposes. Avoid using drinking water for car washing. Recharge groundwater and adapt micro-irrigation techniques in gardens or plantations. Do not pollute water sources under any circumstances.
